The Way Before Christianity | Church of Origin

Welcome to the Church of Origin discussion forums. Our mission is to restore, study, and walk the original 1st-century faith taught by Jesus Christ and His Apostles before Roman state enforcement and creedal additions.

To maintain an orderly, spiritually grounded, and text-focused community, all members agree to the following covenant:

I. Foundational Doctrinal Boundaries
  1. The 1st-Century Scriptural Standard: The canonical Scriptures (Old and New Testaments) are our primary authority. Post-biblical conciliar creeds (Nicene, Athanasian, etc.) may be studied as historical artifacts, but they cannot be imposed as binding biblical truth (1 Corinthians 4:6, Mark 7:7–9).
  2. Strict Monotheism & Agency: We uphold the One True God, the Father and Creator of all, and His appointed, obedient Son and Messiah, the Lord Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 8:6, John 17:3, 1 Timothy 2:5, Acts 2:36). Blasphemy, claims of personal divinity ("I am God"), or collapsing the Father into human philosophical constructs will not be permitted.
  3. The Moral Law & Commandments: We do not rationalize sin, teach lawlessness, or distort biblical commands to appease modern cultural trends.

II. Discussion & Conduct Standards
  1. Text-Grounded Arguments: When presenting or debating doctrine, cite specific biblical passages (book, chapter, verse) or historical/lexical evidence. Vague speculation detached from the text is discouraged.
  2. Academic Charity & Respect (Hen): We welcome genuine seekers from all backgrounds—non-Trinitarian, Trinitarian, Protestant, and former Muslims. Critique arguments and interpretations with the text, but never attack individuals with slander, mockery, or insults.
  3. Zero Tolerance for Disruption:
    • No trolling, derailing threads, or intentional bad-faith arguing.
    • No spam, solicitation, or unauthorized self-promotion.
    • Keep modern partisan political squabbles out of theological study boards.

III. Enforcement & Moderation
Violations of this covenant are addressed transparently through our tiered moderation system:
1. Formal Warning2. Posting Restriction / Moderation Queue3. Temporary Ban (24–72h)4. Permanent Account Removal
